A ten year old boy with torn clothes and body pale and hopelessly wandered alone through the streets of Loures, a suburb of Lisbon (Portugal). His parents had emigrated from the islands of Cape Verde (West Coast of Africa) had just stopped, alone and unaided. His back ached, and after many nights on the streets of bedrock, his stomach growled because he had too long without eating more sensible brought to them. In the cold nights, wrapped with newspapers collected to get a little protection against the cold. In the documents again and again, the Portuguese soccer star Luis Figo and the boy was wanted nothing more, and once a great football player will be. And he could not escape their desperate situation, only by dreams, dreamed of becoming professional footballers and play again for the biggest football clubs in the world. But it was hard for him to sink into good dreams, because the stench of garbage cans next to which had to sleep every day was unbearable.
The first ray of hope came when he picked off the street and got a place in the children's home Casa do Gaiato. From now on, it became regular meals, they had to freeze in the cold, and got an education. His great passion for football, but he was always looking - mostly on the road. In the worst neighborhoods of the city that was against other competitors say again and again, and he developed in his own way. And so the years passed, and from the little boy, thin was the fate of a handsome young man ran its course when, in April 2009, the head of the household, the father Arsenio, got a phone call.
In line with the charity was the Pier, the players still looking for the World Cup Homeless. Participants were the only players currently or formerly were homeless. Of course I immediately fell a very specific name. And so the young man was allowed to travel to Bosnia-Herzegovina, to participate in the contest. Because of his great talent was a Portuguese third division in their care and the young got his first contract. But this club was almost bankrupt, and he got his miserable salary has been uneven. With the money he also supported the orphanage and friends in the street. But through his passion and his talent soon the interest of the Portuguese first division Vitoria de Guimaraes he awoke, and the formerly homeless child was bought by the association for scarce € 50,000 for his first real professional contract.
From now on the football man-young was to hold no more, with ambition and motivation incredibly large, tried to fight in the team. And indeed it was successful. In seven preseason games for the season, scored no less than five goals. Suddenly scouts have also been of major football clubs in the world aware of the players so far unknown. The sudden change has the 20-year-old Bebe scared, cried for two days because they do not give up his room in the house wanted. But now a model for countless young children around the world Baby, which also fulfill the dream of professional football. Bebe was not his career in the crib. He went his way, now plays for Manchester United despite having played in her life in any of the youth team.
Bebe: "I am very happy. I forget the many nights, however, when I had to sleep on the street. When I look back on what has happened, then it sounds like the sports version of Cinderella. Ultimately, all the sacrifices were not in vain, but have borne fruit. I had a dream to play in a big club, and that dream is a fact "...
